Overview
Luminacore HMS runs the operational side of a clinic or hospital: patient registration and records, appointments, billing and claims, pharmacy stock, laboratory results, and the reporting that management and regulators ask for.
The design priority is that it keeps working on a normal day in a busy facility. Reception, the pharmacy and the laboratory each see only what they need, records stay consistent when several people are working at once, and the system degrades gracefully rather than stopping when the connection does.
Patient data is sensitive and treated that way: role-based access, an audit trail of who viewed or changed a record, and encrypted storage. We help you evidence compliance with Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act to your own regulators.

Common questions
Is patient data secure and compliant?
Access is role-based, so staff see only the records their role requires, and every view or change is logged in an audit trail. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We help you evidence compliance with Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 to your regulators; the obligation remains yours as the data controller, and we support you in meeting it.
Can it handle insurance and claims?
Yes. Billing supports cash, insurance and corporate accounts, with claim documentation generated from the treatment record so the billing and clinical sides do not drift apart.
What happens if the internet goes down mid-consultation?
The system tolerates short outages rather than discarding work in progress, and reconciles once the connection returns. For facilities with consistently unreliable connectivity we discuss local hosting during scoping.
How long does deployment take?
Typically two to four months for a facility of moderate size, most of which is data migration, configuring your specific workflows, and training staff. We give a milestone plan after scoping.
Do you train our staff?
Yes. Training by role is part of deployment, covering reception, clinical, pharmacy, laboratory and management. Handover includes documentation so you can train new staff yourselves later.
